First Indian-American wins Miss America

Nina Davuluri is the First Indian-American to win Miss America after defeating contestants from 49 other states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The pageant was held in Atlantic City

 Davuluri for her talent, she performed "classic Bollywood fusion” wearing a traditional Indian ethnic wear and asked about revelations that American television personality Julie Chen had plastic surgery on her eyes. Davuluri answered that she personally was opposed to plastic surgery and said that one's diversity should be celebrated. Her first runner-up was Miss California, Crystal Lee.
